How to avoid risks when using refrigerated trucks?

times

Refrigerated trucks have been in the Chinese market for more than 20 years, especially in the past 10 years when their use has become increasingly widespread. Food, medicine, chemical products, electronic products, flowers, and so on have all been associated with refrigeration to ensure stable product quality.

However, phenomena such as product damage still exist during use, and the main reason is the incorrect use of refrigerated trucks. So, how should we use refrigerated trucks? Let's talk about how refrigeration unit manufacturers can avoid the risks caused by improper use.

1. Correct operation method

Only by using and operating refrigerated trucks correctly can the goods be transported and stored in good condition. Because refrigerated trucks are specifically designed for temperature sensitive products, ensuring temperature is crucial for refrigerated trucks. If used or operated improperly, it can result in the goods not being able to be stored or transported in good condition.

2. Preventive maintenance can reduce maintenance and operating costs to a low level

In our normal use, maintenance and upkeep of the vehicle and refrigeration system are essential. Only by timely and proper maintenance and upkeep of the equipment can it ensure its normal use and extend its service life.

The chassis engine is usually maintained and serviced according to the mileage, while the refrigeration unit is maintained and serviced according to the engine working hours.

A typical refrigeration unit requires maintenance and upkeep every 500-700 hours, which involves replacing the oil filter, fuel filter, and air filter, as well as checking the tightness of the belt and the refrigeration system for leaks.

However, currently some brands of refrigeration units use synthetic or semi synthetic engine oil instead of regular engine oil to meet energy-saving needs, minimize environmental damage, and reduce the emission of harmful substances.

This extends the maintenance time of the engine, usually done every 2000 hours, thus reducing the emission of waste engine oil. In addition, scientific experiments have shown that using this type of engine oil not only reduces engine wear but also reduces fuel consumption.

3. Proper packaging is crucial for protecting goods

Frozen goods are not allowed to have wind blowing over the surface, as wind blowing over the surface of frozen goods can cause loss of moisture, resulting in a decrease in the quality of the goods. Recently, our country has implemented regulations prohibiting the sale of bulk frozen food, and packaging sales are required for this reason.

Due to their own characteristics, fresh products are still in a breathing state during storage and transportation. If not well ventilated, the goods will deteriorate and be damaged. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure good ventilation and air exchange for such goods.

4. After pre cooling or preheating, turn off the refrigeration unit and quickly load the goods

When loading, the carriage should be pre cooled or preheated first. Because vehicles are parked outdoors, the temperature inside the cabin is usually the temperature of the external environment. If the temperature of the transported goods is not the ambient temperature, and the goods are loaded into the carriage, the ambient temperature will affect the temperature of the transported goods, resulting in a change in the quality of the transported goods.

Therefore, the carriage should be pre cooled to the required temperature before loading. However, during loading (like unloading), the refrigeration unit must be turned off. Many people do not turn off the refrigeration unit when loading and unloading goods, which is actually a very wrong operation.

5. The goods should be pre cooled to the required temperature

Many users of refrigerated trucks have a misconception that the refrigeration unit on the truck can freeze or heat the goods loaded into the compartment to the desired temperature at will.

Therefore, goods that do not meet the transportation temperature requirements are loaded into the carriage, and the refrigeration unit is set to the required transportation temperature. After some time, the temperature of the goods is lowered or raised to the required temperature.

However, in reality, the goods not only fail to cool down (or rise), but also suffer damage or deterioration. Because the refrigeration unit of the refrigerated truck does not lower the temperature of the goods, but maintains the temperature of the goods. It is like the cotton quilt we used to wrap the goods when selling cold drinks in the past.

When external cold (heat) sources radiate, conduct, and convection into the cabin, they are carried away by the cold air blown out by the refrigeration unit, isolating the heat source from entering the cargo.

Therefore, when loading, the temperature of the loaded goods should be measured first. If the set point temperature of the refrigeration unit is higher or lower than the temperature of the goods, it will be difficult for the temperature of the goods in the carriage to reach the temperature required for transportation.

The storage temperature of goods should be consistent with the transportation temperature. If the temperature of goods changes frequently, moisture will be lost, which will lead to changes in the quality of goods and shorten the shelf life of goods.
