Chongqing Refrigerated Trucks tells you how to save fuel during transportation:
1. Maintain optimal speed. Everyone knows that acceleration is expensive. The smoother the refrigerated truck runs, the fewer brakes are needed, the fewer accelerations required, and the higher the fuel efficiency. Furthermore, if the driver pushes the accelerator to the floor, fuel consumption can be twice as high as usual. A low, economical driving speed is typically 50 to 60 km/h.
2. Avoid idling. Idling the engine also consumes diesel. If you encounter a long red light or need to wait for a long time, the refrigerated engine should be turned off to avoid idling as much as possible. Idling for 3 minutes consumes enough fuel to travel 1 kilometer.
3. Pay attention to reducing the weight of the refrigerated truck. Extra items, whether it's a pair of sneakers or half a fuel tank, will increase the vehicle's weight. Also, do not place any items on the roof. A piece of luggage or a full luggage rack will provide wind resistance and reduce fuel consumption by 5%.
Fourth, when driving on the highway with the windows closed, once the speed exceeds 75 km/h, the fuel consumption of refrigerated trucks will be 1.5 times that of the economical driving speed in order to overcome air resistance. Opening the windows will negatively impact fuel consumption. In other words, turning on the air conditioner saves fuel compared to opening the windows.
