1. Low temperature control

2. Humidity control

After harvesting, agricultural products lose their water source, resulting in weight loss, loss of freshness, nutrient loss, and flavor deterioration due to evaporation and water loss. Ethylene production increases, accelerating the aging of agricultural products.

Generally, agricultural products can wilt and shrink after losing 5% of water. Therefore, humidity control is extremely important in the cold chain logistics process, and a slightly dry and relatively humid environment is suitable for the storage and transportation of agricultural products.

3. Gas control

The changes in gas composition in the cold chain logistics environment also affect the respiratory intensity of fruits and vegetables. By using modified atmosphere preservation technology, the normal air composition in the storage warehouse or packaging can be changed at a suitable low temperature, reducing the oxygen content and increasing the carbon dioxide content to weaken the respiratory intensity of fresh food, inhibit the growth and reproduction of microorganisms and changes in chemical composition in food, delay the maturity and aging of fruits and vegetables, thereby extending the storage period and improving the storage effect, and achieving the purpose of fruit and vegetable storage and preservation.

4. Damage control

During the harvesting, grading, packaging, transportation, and storage of fruits and vegetables, damage caused by factors such as compression, collision, puncture, pests, and diseases can result in significant loss of agricultural products. Any mechanical damage to fruits and vegetables can enhance respiration, accelerate aging, and also easily lead to bacterial infection and decay.

5. Maturity and Aging Control

The control of maturity and aging of agricultural products is also extremely important in the cold chain logistics process. For example, considering the time factor in the logistics process, agricultural products such as fruits and vegetables cannot be harvested after they are fully ripe, but should be harvested when they are about to reach maturity.
